Frida & Jasper

Dedicated to Frida and Jasper

Frida and Jasper are my very first clients, and they will always hold a special place in my heart. From the moment I met them, I knew they would leave a lasting impact on me.

Frida was rescued from BARC (Boxer Aid and Rescue Coalition). She was born from a boxer mom and a pitbull dad who were forced to breed too early. Frida's mom was unable to lactate and nurse her puppies so their owner gave up all dogs, both parents and puppies, because they could not afford them.

Frida was adopted at 7 weeks old. She developed epilepsy at 3 years old. She has gone through several phases of seizures starting with gran mal seizures to absent seizures. She sees a neurologist and is currently on a regimen that lowers her seizures from daily to every other week which is progress.

Frida is full of life, and full of love.

Frida taught me the importance of staying calm under pressure and providing compassionate care.

Living with epilepsy, she has faced many challenges, but her strength, resilience, and loving spirit continue to inspire everyone around her, including myself.

Jasper was rescued from a small rescue organization in Jacksonville, Florida called Pet Pal.

Jasper and his siblings were all surrendered to Pet Pal, and originally he and one of his sisters were adopted together until the person who adopted both of them realized they cannot handle having two puppies. So then Jasper went onto two separate foster homes. His last foster Mom, named Lauren, had two other large dogs. And that’s where Jasper learned how to be a dog!

He followed those other two dogs around, and was pretty well potty trained. Then someone sent me a picture. By his photo I knew he was gonna be mine. He was adopted at 13 weeks old and a full 20 pounds! He was always a big boy! Jasper loved car rides, face scratches, and belly rubs.

At seven years old he was diagnosed with cancer went over the rainbow bridge. He stayed very strong until the very end.

Jasper taught me the importance of patience and earning trust. He could be very cautious around strangers, but once he felt comfortable, he was the most protective and loyal companion I had ever met. He loved snuggles, belly rubs, and he serenaded me with songs. He was protective of his family and of me. Through it all, he remained incredibly strong, brave, and full of love until the very end. He will always be the best sheriff of all time.

Frida and Jasper are part of my family. Jasper is the dog in my logo and their owners came up with the name “Kelly Cares”. They taught me patience, resilience, compassion, and the extraordinary bond that exists between people and their pets. I am grateful for every moment I spend with them, and their paw prints remain on my heart forever.
